Piping
Within any industry, Piping refers to a system of pipes used to deliver fluids (liquids and gases) from one place to another, and can also mean the detailed specifications of the full physical piping layout within a plant or a building.
Obviously, in the Gold Coast Refractory Service world of Refractory Construction and Emergency Maintenance, up-to-date and accurate knowledge of these Piping systems, as well as your plant or building’s actual physical piping layout, is critical to successfully using Refractory Materials to create a safe and effective means to move high temperature product through your equipment.
One common use of a Piping system is to move raw and semi-processed fluids for refining into other useful products. Examples of these construction materials include titanium, chrome-moly, Inconel, and other steel alloys. In this instance, and in almost all uses of Piping, in-line devices, such as fittings and valves for instance, are normally constructed and maintained as part of the Piping system. These in-line devices sense and control the pressure, flow rate and temperature of the transported fluid. When required, both these pipes and devices will need to be cleaned. But there are many other applications of Piping systems as well.
Piping materials must generally be compliant with American Petroleum Inst. (API), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), ASME, and ANSI standards. These standards have rigid chemistry, specification, testing and manufacturing requirements. Modern steel piping manufactured to these tough standards will mean both high quality and safety assurance.
To help you with all of your Piping-related needs, Gold Coast Refractory Service has decades of best practice experience in both the construction and repair of Refractory Piping Systems, as well as substantial expertise in Preventive Maintenance of all refractory equipment, including piping.
In addition, our Gold Coast Refractory Service staff is tremendously well-versed in 2D and 3D Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software, as well as stress analysis software, which can assist in the proper documentation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) during Refractory Construction projects, but also can also help facilitate quick, safe and cost-effective repairs during a system failure. We will take into consideration that individual Piping systems are exposed to different loads and stresses like pressure, temperature, vibrations and seismic conditions depending on the type and temperature of the fluid and the surrounding conditions when we are create our approach.
